This partnership involved a tri-campus symposium on race relations in America.
Resources

  • ASU hosts Diversity and Inclusion Programs and Activities.
  • The university's Spring 2023, Vol. #2 edition of "Milestones" includes education research on Critical Race Theory. According to one of the authors featured in the report, "The current anti-Critical Race Theory (CRT) climate...seeks to limit the accurate teaching of the role of racism in America’s schools" which is "evidence of government schools’ role in promoting white supremacy and hegemony."
Symbolic Actions
  • In the summer of 2020, ASU's President stated the following regarding the launch of the Centers for Diversity, Inclusion and Social Equity (DISE): "'the University formed a partnership with Fort Valley State University and Savannah State University to 'Stand United' against racism, and the social and economic injustices that continue to plague our country. Our institutions have a historic legacy of developing strong leaders who fight at the forefront for equality in education, social justice, and who died for civil rights. DISE is ASU’s opportunity to remain at the forefront of these issues and to affect change'."
