Previously known as York College, York University has over 54,000 "students enrolled in 200+ undergraduate and graduate degree programs." Founded in 1959, "York is a top international teaching and research university and a driving force for positive change. General Information
The school includes a focus on diversity in its Secondary Education Program. Furthermore, York University (previously known as York College) has engaged in other anti-racism initiatives, including a priority to implement training program. No mandatory Critical Race Training is required yet. However, see developments below:

Anti-Racism, Bias, and Diversity Training
  • Diversity and Belonging is listed as part of York University’s Priorities in efforts to “create an inclusive campus environment,” “continue implementing diversity training and educational programs to promote cultural competence and sensitivity,” and “increase recruitment efforts to attract students and faculty from diverse backgrounds.”
Curriculum Changes and Requirements
  • The Secondary Education Program faculty "focuses on diversity issues."
Resources
  • Erin DeHart, the Chair of the Education Program and the Division of Professional Studies at York University has primary research interests in multicultural and diversity education and has “worked with students in promoting diversity and creating activities on campus that celebrates diversity.”
