School Information
"At Rocky Hill Country Day, our vision is for students to be doing and becoming, emphasizing process over product. Our school motto 'Know Thyself' remains a guiding principle in our approach to fulfilling our mission. RHCD students are building competencies in thinking critically, navigating the world ethically, and communicating intentionally in order to discover their full selves and use their wisdom for good. Our students find themselves not only well prepared for college academics and personal independence, but also for wherever their life’s journey takes them." Rocky Hill promises to “offer students a diverse education that prepares them to be bold learners, ready to navigate a complex and changing world” where “students thrive in an environment that provides real-world experiences, meaningful coursework, and individualized and collaborative learning opportunities" (Source: https://www.rockyhill.org/why-rhcd/). Rocky Hill Country Day School was founded in 1934. The school has an average class size of 14 students and a student/faculty ratio of 5:1. Also, 72% of its faculty have post graduate degrees. Guided by "research from the World Economic Forum, we created our Student Competencies."
  • The Equity and Belonging Curriculum for the RNCD Middle School is geared to “engage a deeper understanding of community” and engages students to “know and like who they are, while respecting all people, those who are similar to and different from them” and challenges them to “ethically collaborate in different spaces as globally minded citizens of a greater community.”
  • The 2020-2026 Strategic Plan states the school will "deepen curriculum development with an emphasis on justice and equity" and develop the "curriculum to continue to build an anti-racist, just, equitable and inclusive institution."
