“Bradley University empowers students for immediate and sustained success in their personal and professional endeavors by combining professional preparation, liberal arts and sciences, and co-curricular experiences. Bradley was established in 1897, hosts 8 colleges and schools, and has over 4,600 undergraduate students with a student to faculty ratio of 12 to 1 (Source: https://www.bradley.edu/about/quickfacts/).
General Information
The school has several DEI initiatives and offers several resources. For example, the school offered several DEI trainings in addition to an DEI Open Forum. A grant was given to the school in order to further such initiatives. Currently, the school is seeking out ways to enhance DEI within faculty promotion, tenure, and reviews. See developments below:

Actions Taken

Anti-Racism, Bias, and Diversity Training
  • Bradley hosted DEI trainings and offers recordings of such trainings online.
  • The school hosted a DEI Open Forum.
  • The school hosts the Advocates and Allies initiative, which works towards “raising awareness of systemic and interpersonal forms of discrimination, and building intervention and advocacy skills among the faculty.”
Program and Research Funding
  • The school received a $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE program, which works towards DEI initiatives.
  • The ACT initiative is hosted to promote “offering chairs opportunities to share best practices with their peers.”
Resources
  • The school hosts the Office of Inclusive Excellence, which “provides educational outreach to the entire campus community through programming, awareness months and collaborative efforts with student organizations and university departments.”
  • Bradley hosts a “DEI Glossary” with terminology related to DEI, anti-racism, and inclusivity.
  • The school is engaging in the IDEAS initiative, which works towards “offering a range of workshops, lectures, films and more to explore the data behind equity work and to learn evidence-based ways we can all make a difference.”
Symbolic Actions
  • The school is establishing “an Equity Dashboard to track and improve DEI outcomes in the faculty ranks.”
  • The school will conduct a TPR Review and Revision initiative which is “aimed at promoting transparency and equity in tenure and promotion.”
  • The school began the Faculty Annual Review Revision initiative so as to “promote equity and transparency in annual review processes.”
