General Information
Trinity College is taking steps to implement diversity into its hiring practices, as well as its training for members of its community. The college announced new diversity hires. Additionally, it announced that it will be implementing mandatory "microaggression" and "unconscious bias" training, although the exact form of the training is not yet known. See developments below:

Actions Taken

Admissions Policies
  • The school has a Multicultural Recruitment team within admissions, and it will “expand the work of building an anti-racist community to everyone on the admissions and financial aid teams.”
Anti-Racism, Bias, and Diversity Training
  • The college announced that it will be implementing mandatory "microaggression" and "unconscious bias" training, although the exact form of the training is not yet known.
  • The school stated that “students, faculty, and employees across college departments completed DiversityEdu training.
Curriculum Changes and Requirements
  • The school is planning to implement a requirement where “all incoming students complete an online diversity course.”
Faculty/Staff Requirements
  • The Counseling and Wellness Center stated that it will “commit to mandatory training for our staff on cultural competency, racism and promoting racial justice in mental health.”
Program and Research Funding
  • Starting January 2022, the “DEI Faculty Fellows implemented January Term professional development series.
  • The school announced that it has “implemented an ‘Understanding and Responding to Racism’ Greek Talk Series.”
Resources
  • Trinity committed to “engaging with common readings and resources and participating in group discussions within our teams and with our broader community” in order to “purposefully and formally educate ourselves as individuals and as a team on systemic racism and anti-racist action.”
  • In Fall of 2020, the school had a summit titled “Exploring the Historical Roots of Racial Inequity.”
